Officers from the Perry Barr and Oscott neighbourhood team spoke to the landlord of a house, in Rockford Road, off Dyas Avenue, earlier this week.
They returned yesterday morning to find that the property was empty.
A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "Acting on community information, officers spoke to the landlord of a property in Rockford Road and warned him that if it was being used as a brothel, he could be prosecuted.
"Subsequently the property had been vacated."
