Lauren Jeska was not required to enter a plea when she appeared at Birmingham Crown Court via video-link from prison on Tuesday.

Jeska, 41, of Wesley Terrace in Machynlleth, Powys, Mid Wales, was charged in March with attempting to murder Ralph Knibbs at Alexander Stadium.

Officers from West Midlands Police were called to the stadium at about 10.30am on March 22 after reports that a 51-year-old man had been stabbed.

Jeska is further charged with two counts of unlawful and malicious wounding with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm on two other men, and possession of three knives in a public place.

Judge Philip Parker QC told Jeska, who sat with her hands crossed in her lap during the hearing, that her lawyers would be going to see her to discuss her case.

He added: "At the moment your trial is still listed for September 22 and if there's any need for a hearing before then, your case will be slotted in to the (court) list."
