Diamond rings and a sentimental gold Tissot watch were among the large quantity of high-value goods taken from the home in Sandy Lane, Codsall.

It is not known whether a gang or a lone criminal were responsible for the raid which happened between 10.15am and 3.15pm on Monday.

The stolen goods included a unique gold gentleman's Tissot watch engraved with 'A. Hutton and Glynwed 25 years', a Pandora bracelet with over 20 charms, diamond rings and gold bracelets and necklaces.

Staffordshire Police today launched an appeal to find the crooks responsible.

Sgt Lee Wareing, from the force's South Staffordshire Local Policing Team, urged members of the public to look out for any of the stolen goods.

He said: "An investigation into the break-in is on going and we are keen to hear from anyone who is offered items matching the descriptions above for sale.

"The watch in particular is of sentimental value to the victim and we're very keen to reunite the stolen items with their rightful owner."
