Man 'stable' after being stabbed on Walsall street

A man who was stabbed in a Walsall street late last night is believed to be in a stable condition.

The victim was taken to hospital and treated for a stab wound to his lower back after emergency services were called at around 11pm.

Police were called to Countess Street, Palfrey, just after 11pm by ambulance colleagues who were treating the man for a puncture wound.

West Midlands Police believe the man had been assaulted outside a social club in Caldmore Green several minutes earlier.
