30 mile police chase suspect denies taking bus

A man has denied stealing a bus in Tipton and speeding off in it across the Black Country.

Thomas Tibbs, aged 20, will face a trial after pleading not guilty to aggravated vehicle taking at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

The bus was stolen from Tinsley Street, Tipton, at around 9.40pm on March 30 and was chased by police for 30 miles and spotted in Albrighton, Shropshire.

The bus was eventually stopped and abandoned in Southall Crescent, Coseley.

Tibbs, of Clinic Drive, Lye, will stand trial in October.

Two other men, Peter Loveland, 39, of Dale Close, Tipton, and John Burton, 38, of Beaconsfield, Telford, have already admitting being part of the theft.
