Latvian nationals Aleksandrs Basliks and Sabina Bosina held the woman captive in Wolverhampton as they carried out their sickening attack.

Wolverhampton Crown Court heard the victim was subjected to a 'protracted and horrifying ordeal' in October 2014 as the pair sought to satisfy their 'twisted' sexual desires.

Basliks and Bosina went looking for a prostitute to torture on the night of the attack, the court was told.

The victim agreed to have 'limited sex' with Basliks and another man and was told she would be given drugs if they agreed to come back with them, Judge Kristina Montgomery said.

"But when you got her home it became apparent the arrangement you came to was a ruse," she said.

It was then that the attack began, and the victim was not allowed to leave despite her pleas for the abuse to stop.

It was only when Basliks passed out due to the amount of drugs and drink in his system that the woman was finally able to escape.

Her victim impact statement was read to the court by prosecutor Mr Marc Davies.

It said: "That night it was their intention to act on some sick fantasy – unfortunately I was the victim. Both of you knew I was pregnant and that made it even more twisted.

"I genuinely feared for mine and my baby's life.

"If it wasn't for Aleksandrs falling asleep I don't know how much further they would have taken it."

The brave victim said she was determined to speak out to ensure the pair were brought to justice for their vile crimes.

Basliks, 35, of Rugby Street, Whitmore Reans and Bosina, 36, of Staveley Road, Whitmore Reans, were found guilty of false imprisonment, rape and causing sexual activity.
