Burglars steal tools worth £20k in factory break-in

Burglars escaped with a haul of tools thought to be worth about £20,000 in a break-in today at a factory in Acton Trussell.

The burglary, at premises in Teddesley Road, was discovered when staff opened up for business at around 6.30am.

Offenders forced entry to the building some time overnight, made an untidy search of a rear storage room and took a large quantity of hand tools from storage cabinets.

They also stole from the site a white Mercedes Sprinter van, registration number YK03 KTG.

Sgt Leigh Wareing of Staffordshire Police said: "A considerable number of items were taken and it will take the factory owner some time to discover what exactly has gone but he initially estimates about £20,000 worth of tools were stolen.

"We would appeal for any witnesses to the incident to come forward."

Anyone with information about the offence should call Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting reference number 66 of April 28.
