West Bromwich murder: Stab victim named as Darren Parker

The man stabbed to death in West Bromwich was named tonight as Darren Parker, as police continued to question three people over his suspected murder.

Mr Parker from West Bromwich died from stab wounds to his chest, officers also confirmed.

They were called to Campville Crescent, Stone Cross just before 2pm yesterday, but the 43-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

A family statement released this evening said: "Darren was loved by everyone who knew him especially his family. He was always there for them and if anyone needed a helping hand he was there to help. Darren had been happily married to Anne his soulmate of eight and a half years.

"The family are devastated and are trying to come to terms with their loss, they would like to be left alone to deal with their grief."

Another man in his early 20s was also taken to hospital with stab wounds.

He was said to be in a serious but stable condition.

Detectives have been given more time to question two men aged 24 and 19, and a 23-year-old woman.

Det Inspector Warren Hines from Force CID said: "We are continuing to investigate the circumstances which led to Mr Parker's death and we have already spoken to a number of witnesses and examined the scene for forensic evidence.

"I would urge anyone else who has any information to assist our enquiry to contact us on 101 as soon as possible so that we can help Darren's family come to terms with his death."
