Fake charity collectors charged with burglary and fraud

A girl of 15 is one of two people who allegedly claimed to be charity collectors, knocking on Willenhall doors and requesting cash donations to have been charged with burglary and fraud.

Vanessa Millard, aged 46, of no fixed address, is accused of two counts of burglary, two counts of fraud by false representation, and one count of assault after she is alleged to have pushed over an elderly woman whose door she had knocked on.

A 15-year-old girl, who cannot be named due to her age, is also charged with two counts of burglary.

The thefts took place from addresses on Rose Hill Gardens in Willenhall and occurred three times during December and January.

Millard appeared at Walsall Magistrates Court on Monday, January 25, where she was remanded in custody to re-appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on February 22.
