Security workers charged with murder of man at Oldbury charity event

Two security staff working at a charity event have been charged with the murder of a man who died after trouble broke out.

Nicolas Salhan, 36, from Haybridge Avenue in Stourbridge and Jonathan Davies, 42, from Old Bridge Walk in Rowley Regis, were appearing before Sandwell Magistrates Court this morning accused of the murder of Inderjit Singh Dhariwal.

They were charged late last night.

Police said Mr Dhariwal, 49, from the Langley area of Oldbury, suffered serious head injuries at Samsons Banqueting Suite in Rood End Road, Oldbury, just before 2am on Sunday.

Officers said disorder had broken out at the event.

He was taken to hospital in a critical condition and later died of his injuries.
