Detectives last night charged Trevor Tyndale with killing the 26-year-old, after being granted further time to question the unemployed man.

Mrs Mann's body was discovered in the kitchen of her house in Chapel Street, West Bromwich, on Friday morning. A post-mortem revealed she had died from asphyxiation.

Tyndale was arrested at around 10pm on Friday and will appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court later today.

Floral tributes have been left outside Mrs Mann's home, which is within half-a-mile of where a second body was found on Friday. The two deaths are believed to be unconnected.

A 39-year-old neighbour, who chose to remain anonymous, said she was due to meet up with Mrs Mann on Friday but could not get in contact with her.

This rung alarm bells and just before 11.30am Mrs Mann's body was found in her home by her worried family members and the friend.

"I can't believe she's gone - she was my friend but she's gone," the neighbour said.

"Wendy was such a good girl."
