'Targeted' shooting at house in Smethwick

Police are investigating after three shots were fired at a property in Smethwick.

The shooting took place at on Marshall Street at around 11.30pm on Sunday.

The shots are believed to have been fired through the front door of a deliberately targeted building. Nobody was injured.

A silver or white Mercedes car was spotted leaving the area shortly afterwards.

Detective Constable Peter Miller, from Smethwick's Violent Crime Team, said: "Fortunately no-one was hurt but this could have seriously injured or even killed the occupants.

"I believe that people in the area may have seen the vehicle or the incident and I am appealing to them to call me or one of the team."

Forensic and house-to-house inquiries have been carried out to help establish who was behind the attack.
