Open land and gardens in and around the High Street were being scoured in the search for clues following the disappearance of the 26-year-old.

She was last seen on the evening of November 19 in West Bromwich, and two people have now been charged with her murder.

Chief Inspector Caroline Marsh, from force CID, said: "We will be searching the area where Lidia was last seen in a hope that we will find some clues into her disappearance.

"Officers will be searching open land, gardens, bins and areas in and around the High Street and I am appealing to anyone who may have known Lidia and who saw her around the time of her disappearance to call me with any information.

"I am determined to discover what happened to Lidia – as we have now charged two people with murder – it is quite sad to say that I am now looking for her body and I need people to come forward if they feel that they have seen something suspicious.

"If you were in High Street area following Lidia's disappearance and you saw anyone acting suspiciously – at the time you may have brushed this off, but I now need you to call me with information – no matter how trivial you feel it is.

"We have specialist officers who continue to liaise with Lidia's family who live in Romania and our thoughts are with them at this sad time."
