Sgt Jon King was injured while protecting the public after being called with colleagues to a property on Wat Tyler Close in Rugeley.

After a six hour stand-off he was shot in the right eye with a rubber bullet.

Sgt King tells viewers he has undergone surgery on his eye but has been left blinded in it. And he says he has made the decision to have a prosthetic eye fitted and will post videos to keep people updated on his road to recovery.

He said: "I'm not really going to go into the shooting side of it, that'll be dealt with at court and that's just one of those things. I've got 26 years' service and those sort of things just happen (I think)"

Officers at the scene after the shooting

A 34-year-old man was detained at the scene after the shooting under the mental health act.
