Merry Hill bus sex attack suspect caught on camera

This man was wanted by police today after a teenager was sexually assaulted on a bus travelling to Merry Hill.

The victim, who is in her late teens, was on the 243 bus from Dudley when a man sat next to her.

He began verbally abusing her and she asked him to move, before he refused and grabbed her inappropriately.

The suspect

The attacker got off the bus in Cradley Heath and was last seen walking towards Reddal Hill Road.

He is white, in his 50s, around 5ft 9ins tall and was wearing a green jacket with blue jeans, brown boots and was carrying a sports bag.

It happened at around 1.20pm on April 30, but the footage has been released for the first time today.

Dc Warren Moore, from West Midlands Police's Safer Travel team, said: "People should be able to travel on buses around the West Midlands safely and without being harassed.

"Whoever committed this assault needs to be found so we can bring them to justice and ensure they don't carry out any further offences.
