Ashley Barton, aged 26, of Barneswood Close, Halesowen, is charged with two counts of wounding with intent.

He appeared at Dudley Magistrates' Court today after being arrested last night.

The case was adjourned to a hearing at Wolverhampton Crown Court on May 28.

The attack took place at Benjamin's nightclub in the early hours of November 16.

Beautician Nicole Hill, 20, and her mother Lorraine, 47, were both injured in the attack. Nicole was left with a 4in cut to the back of her head and said she was terrified to go out following the attack.

The arrest follows a police appeal last month and the release of CCTV images.
