Cannabis seized in raid on Sedgley house

Around £18,000 worth of cannabis plants were found packed into a bedroom at a home following a police raid.

Officers were alerted to the property, in Dudley Road, Sedgley, on Monday afternoon, to carry out a search.

They discovered 18 plantsinside a single bedroom at the address. Hydroponic equipment including lights and air ducting was also discovered, creating a cannabis farm.

Police estimate that the plants were worth around £1,000 each. Officers visited the home at around 5.50pm.

No arrests have been made so far

Sgt Jimmy Jones, who is based at Sedgley police station, said: "Information from our communities is vital in bringing to justice those individuals who supply drugs so we'd urge anyone with information to speak to us."

He also urged residents to look for any tell-tale signs of suspicious activity in their neighbourhoods to call police.
