Three Wolves fans have been arrested following disturbances at today’s game with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
Nottinghamshire Police confirmed one arrest was for an away fan letting off a flare inside the stadium and two further arrests were for section 5 public order offences.
It was reported prior to the game some 200 Wolves fans gathered in a Wetherspoons pub in Market Square in Nottingham city centre.
Police then planned to escort the group two miles from the city centre to the City Ground but while doing so a smoke bomb was set off by one visiting supporter.
Nottinghamshire Police spokesman Paul Coffey said: “During this police escort a smoke bomb was set off but no arrest was made at the time. After the game started three arrests were made. One was for a visiting supporter setting off a flare and two were related to section 5 public order offences for abuse towards stewards.”
Wolves lost the game 3-1.
