Food delivery company Deliveroo has launched in Cannock.

Deliveroo is an app and website that enables customers to check out the local food in their area.

Deliveroo works with both the best independent restaurants like Smoke Grill and India Red and also high street favourites like KFC and Burger King.

Working with Deliveroo increases restaurants’ sales as they can reach a wider range of customers. This enables restaurants to expand their businesses, often employing more staff, broadening their menus and lengthening opening times as a result.

Deliveroo will be looking for up to 50 people in Cannock to become riders. Those who work as riders will be able to work when they want and where they want, delivering restaurant food to customers’ doors, desks or even parks in under 30 minutes.

Harrison Foster, regional director in the UK, said: "Launching in Cannock is a key milestone for Deliveroo. Cannock has a thriving foodie community and a wide range of restaurants, so we’re excited to connect them.

"We look forward to working with our new restaurant partners to reach a new customer base and expand their businesses. Deliveroo will also create work for up to 50 local riders and we are thrilled to offer a flexible role to the community.”

Amanda Milling, Member of Parliament for Cannock Chase, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Deliveroo to Cannock Chase as local residents will now be able to benefit from having meals delivered straight to their doorstep. Strong and vibrant high streets are a key priority for me and Deliveroo will help some of our local high street businesses reach new customers, whilst also creating new local jobs for people in Cannock Chase.”

Deliveroo is focused on providing the ultimate food delivery experience. Customers have the option to schedule orders via the Deliveroo app up to one day in advance or receive food as soon as possible between 5pm and 11pm on weekdays and 11.30am and 11pm on weekends, from a variety of independent eateries, traditional takeaways and high-quality chain restaurants.
