The Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty can be seen from a different angle under a blanket of snow in a two-minute film made with a drone and DSLR camera.

Richard Rees, 31, from Stafford, spent three hours filming wildlife at the Chase, including deer and robins, along with the landscape from above as the sun was setting over the area.

Along with his brother Nick Rees, 34, Richard is part of five-man band Oldernar, who create videos and accompanying soundtracks rather than performing live.

By day Richard is a local government officer and he creates the visuals by filming and editing, while his brother composes the music and creates it with the rest of the band.

They both do so voluntarily and have previously filmed landmarks including Stafford Castle and Doxey Marshes.

Richard said: "It was awesome to film. We always go out to places with nature like the Chase which is right on our doorstep.

"When the snow comes in, there is no better place to be.

"The film took three hours of patience and luck really to capture the robins and the deer who happened to walk by.

"We make music and film because it it a way of release and escapism. We film anywhere and everywhere in the outdoors that is calming.

"It took five hours to edit but it was not a chore, it was an escape."

Richard first picked up a camera 12 years ago and taught himself how to use it.

Oldernar is also made up of Daniel John Marsden, 28 , Tom Wilson, 29, and Leon Taylor, 45.

He added: "It does not pay the bills so at the moment it is a hobby but it is also an aspiring career.

"My brother and I do the visuals first to see how that feels and then we will go back and forth to think of a composition that fits it. We have some projects we want to pursue in the future to shine a light on other things."

They are hoping to make shorter documentary-based videos where they will be looking at social movements based around saving older buildings in Stafford.

They also hope to release their EP on Spotify in March.
