A celebratory afternoon tea united staff, residents and their neighbours as they marked Sunrise of Tettenhall's 10 year anniversary.

The special Tea at The Ritz also celebrated the Wolverhampton home's 10-month fundraising initiative, dubbed 10 for 10, which raised £1,5000 in the lead up to the milestone.

Director of community relations at Sunrise of Tettenhall Jenny Billingsley said: "In the lead up to our 10th anniversary, we have been delighted to raise such an amazing amount of money, as a community, for so many worthy causes.

"We were so proud to be celebrating our 10th birthday at Sunrise of Tettenhall and loved welcoming residents, family, friends and the local neighbours to the finale of our 10 for 10 plan, with Tea At The Ritz. It was a fabulous event and everyone had a great time."

Barber shop quartet Tickled Pink bounced sweet tunes and a capella classics across the Wergs Road home during the anniversary celebrations.

Tasty finger sandwiches and sugary cakes were served during the delicious afternoon tea, with a cheese and wine evening held during the festivities for professionals.

The team gathered £200 from the event for Wolverhampton's Compton Hospice, which was Sunrise of Tettenhall's chosen charity for the past month.

It marked the end of the care home's fundraising pledge 10 for 10, which saw Sunrise of Tettenhall supporters raise cash for a different charity each month for 10 months.

Organisers behind the fundraising drive decided to dedicate their time to different charities to mark their efforts to support hundreds of people in need across the city.

Charities included Deafblind UK, British Heart Foundation, Dementia Support, Parkinson’s UK, Stroke Association, Alzheimer’s Society, Headway, Beacon Centre and Macmillan Cancer Support.
