Sharon Tew's father was on the way home from The Hawthorns on Saturday evening when he was taken ill.

A fellow Baggies fan stepped in to offer lifesaving support, administering CPR and giving mouth-to-mouth until paramedics arrived and took over.

Ms Tew is now hoping to track down the officer, thought to be called Raz, so she can thank him.

She said her father remained in a 'bad way' after the incident in Kimberley Road but the officer's actions had given him a chance of recovery.

She said on Twitter: "Baggies fans, I need your help – on the way home from yesterday's match, my dad suffered a heart attack minutes away from where we had parked (Kimberley Rd, just round the corner from The Wagon & Horses).

"Of all the people that offered assistance, I'm hoping to find Raz, an off-duty policeman who I assumed had been to the game with friends and kids as they all had Baggies tops on.

"This man jumped straight in and commenced CPR and mouth-to-mouth and worked on my dad till paramedics arrived and took over.

"Although my dad is in a very bad way and his situation is precarious to say the least, there is no doubt that this man saved dad's life and gave him the best chance of some kind of recovery.

"I just wanted to find him and let him know this and also that his actions have touched my family's hearts in a way he will never know.

"If anybody knows Raz, please let me know and please share amongst your Baggies friends and followers."

The pair were on their way home after leaving Albion's ground following the side's 1-0 Premier League defeat to Leicester.
