The five-acre site had previously been owned by regeneration specialists, St. Modwen, who have been transforming the site since 2009.

The land had outline planning consent and Barratt Homes have now submitted detailed plans for 93 homes, including nine affordable homes, with construction expected to start in spring this year.

A total of £150 million has already been invested in the ongoing regeneration of the Goodyear site.

New retail facilities and a 17.5 acre neighbourhood park are also being delivered later this year.
