Dudley Hippodrome demolition fall back plan withdrawn

A 'fall back' planning application to 'potentially' demolish the town's Hippodrome has been withdrawn by Dudley Council.

The application was submitted in case milestones agreed between the authority and Dudley Hippodrome owners were not met.

But council leaders said it was withdrawn after Black Country Hippodrome Ltd voiced concerns it 'could have a detrimental effect on potential funding opportunities'.

Councillor Khurshid Ahmed, cabinet member for planning and economic development, said: "We are continuing to work closely with Black Country Hippodrome Ltd and support their aspirations to reopen the former Hippodrome building."
