Meanwhile, Matt Doherty, Kortney Hause, George Saville and Bright Enobakhare attended the Good Shepherd Ministry Soup Kitchen in Darlington Street, Wolverhampton, where they got involved in serving Christmas dinner complete with roast potatoes cooked by club staff.

Speaking on the visits, Batth, said: "It is always important as players to come away from football and get out into the local community as much as possible. Today's visits are part of the programme of community visits which take place not just at Christmas but all the year around.

"Some of the children we have seen today are going to be in here on Christmas Day, so it was nice to have the opportunity to come down and give them a few early gifts.

"Hopefully it has cheered them up just a little bit and they are all on the mend and will be better soon. You can have good and bad results on a football pitch, but coming here, and seeing some of these kids and their families battling through some really tough times, gives you a fresh perspective on life."
