Former Kinver High School pupil, Jack de Bell, died aged 18 after his Ford Fiesta hit a tree at about 4.30am on Saturday.

The teenager was well-known in Kinver, and on the evening after his death a large group of family and friends united in his memory at the White Harte pub on the High Street, where he went every weekend.

Among those paying tribute was the headteacher of Jack's former school, Chris Rogers. He said: "It really shocked and upset the staff here when we heard.

"He was a really charming and well-mannered pupil. The staff really liked him. He had a real twinkle in his eye."

Also saddened by the news was manager of the White Harte, Carl Coffman, who said: "He'd come in every weekend and I never had any hassle from him."
