The mother of inspirational teenager Stephen Sutton, who died from terminal cancer in May 2014, continued his legacy by climbing Africa's highest mountain earlier this year.

During a three-day trade conference at its Aldridge base, RotoMetrics, which designs and makes engineering precision cutting tools for the print and packaging industry, held a raffle and auction.

Delegates contributed an outstanding £1,400 before RotoMetrics added a further £600. Mrs Sutton's total pot now stands at about £15,000.

The firm's Neil Lilly said: "Living locally I have followed Jane's updates posted on the Stephen's Story Facebook page, so I was fully aware of her fundraising challenges for Teenage Cancer Trust.

"When Jane announced that she was planning to climb Mount Kilimanjaro my immediate thought was that we, as a company, should support her fundraising efforts during this event."

Mrs Sutton attended the conference and said: "I was blown away by the sum of money raised. The delegates were incredibly generous with their donations and for RotoMetrics to add a further £600 was a wonderful gesture."

Former England rugby union world cup winning coach Sir Clive Woodward was guest speaker at the conference.

Mrs Sutton described his speech as inspiring and thought-provoking.
