Commercial developer Trebor Developments and construction partner Seddon have bought an 11.7-acre site known as Prime Point 14, next to Redhill Business Park, in Stafford.

The firms have submitted plans to Staffordshire County Council to build the units – one at 76,400 sq ft and the other at 64,200 sq ft – to be used for manufacturing, or as a warehouse.

The partnership will put a combined £12 million into the development.

Bob Tattrie, managing partner at Trebor Developments, said: "Subject to the grant of planning on this employment site, we look forward to delivering with our partner, Seddon, further quality, speculative, industrial accommodation in Staffordshire to meet growing occupier demand.

"Construction will be undertaken by Seddon Construction's Birmingham branch, allowing us to deliver the buildings using our fast-track development method. This is a further exciting industrial scheme to meet Midlands' demand and illustrates financial commitment post Brexit."

A spokeswoman for Trebor added the development of the two units would provide more than 142,000 sq ft of high quality, industrial accommodation, which would be used for manufacturing or warehouse uses.

"The total investment in the development is in the order of £12 million and a planning application has been lodged with Staffordshire County Council," she said.

"We cannot be categorical as to the number of jobs that will be created as this will depend on end users secured for the units and the type of operation.

"But we would anticipate, including construction personnel involved in delivering the scheme, in the order of 250 jobs being created from the development.

"Trebor and Seddon believe there is a lack of good quality industrial accommodation across the Midlands, in particular Staffordshire.

"This development will fulfil a gap in the market."

Work to attract new tenants and occupiers for the industrial units will begin next month.
