Sunday ball game ban could finally be lifted at Dudley parks

Published

An historic ban on ball games on Sundays at four parks in the Dudley borough could be lifted by the council.

Ball games are not allowed on Sundays at Mary Stevens Park in Stourbridge, the Stevens Parks in Wollescote and Quarry Bank and Homer Hill Park in Cradley under regulations which go back years.

Bosses at Dudley Council now want to remove the ban to encourage more children to play on the parks and are to launch a consultation on the issue.

They believe the long-standing tradition is no longer needed and is impacting on how many people use the parks.
