Wednesfield man found shot dead in countryside car park

An inquest has opened into a man who was found in a car park with a shotgun wound to his head.

Matthew Kendall, of Wednesfield, was found dead on October 12, an inquest in Telford was told yesterday.

The inquest heard that the 39-year-old was found by a visitor lying on the ground at Pole Cottage car park, in Church Stretton, with a shotgun next to him.

A post-mortem examination revealed that he died from a shotgun wound to the head.

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances.

The inquest was adjourned for further investigations to be carried out.

It is expected to resume at Telford Register Office, in Wellington, on January 25.
