Stuart and Denise Powell, from Featherstone, who scooped £1 million last year, joined other winners from across the UK for a series of tutorials delivered by a host of lifestyle experts.

They include the dos and don't of buying luxury cars led by former Top Gear and Fifth Gear presenter Tiff Needell.

There was Champagne tasting with Pol Roger director Cassidy Dart, and learning what to wear with celebrity stylist Zoe Tilston.

And gift wrapper to the stars Neelam Meetcha demonstrated how to wrap large and unusual gifts, including a Range Rover.

Tips taught on the course include identifying the best Champagnes, what to look for when buying a sports car worth more than £250,000, and what to wear when flying first class or in a private jet.

Mr and Mrs Powell struck lucky in the Euro Millions Millionaire Maker in December.

But they have been incredibly understated, living in their same modest home and both continuing to work full time jobs.

But they have splashed out on homes for their three sons, two in Featherstone, and one in Sheffield. And Mrs Powell bought a Land Rover.

However, Mr Powell's first purchase was a £38 nail gun for work around the house.

Speaking from the event at an exclusive London venue, Mr Powell said: "Ever since our win we've been enjoying experiences we never dreamt possible, from buying homes for our boys to taking exotic holidays, it's been amazing.

"There have been occasions where we've come a little unstuck so to have this team of professionals from the world of the rich and famous giving us advice has been great, and lots of fun to boot."

The master classes are dubbed the National Lottery Mega Millionaire Academy which sees all those attending 'graduating'.

Mrs Powell said: "Winning the lottery has opened numerous doors for us, and our family, and it's great to know that as more people join this wonderful 'club' every week they too will be able to open those doors.

"Our involvement in the Millionaire Academy will certainly help us in the future. It's not that we drink vintage Champagne every day, but it's nice to know when you are.

"And never did I think we'd get some top tips from the Director of Wine at a prestigious Champagne house or the inside line on the best sports car in the £250,000 plus price bracket."

The pair won £1 million in November last year.

The Academy was held as EuroMillions will make double the number of UK millionaires.

Hosting the event was The National Lottery's winners' advisor Andy Carter who has years of experience in helping new millionaires make a smooth transition into the millionaire lifestyle.

Andy said: "There has long been a fascination with the UKs biggest lottery winners – what do they do straight away after the win?"

"Most people have a 'to do' list for that jackpot winning moment and as a new millionaire, you can afford to act on your wildest dreams.

"My team pay out the win, can arrange a panel of financial experts and provide a huge degree of support from experience of making over 4,250 millionaires, but I have never had to work out how to hire a private jet or how you gift wrap a car as a present," he said.

"Stuart and Denise's input has been invaluable because they will ensure that we provide a tried and tested guide which will help winners enjoy their life changing win as soon as it is in the private bank," he added.
