Full time roles, apprenticeship opportunities and seasonal jobs will all be up for grabs from more than 60 companies and other organisations on Friday.

Royal Mail, KFC, Tarmac, Poundland, Wincanton/Scewfix and National Express are among the companies already signed up to take part in the Wolverhampton Jobs Fair, which has been organised as part of the build-up to the city's Business Week at the end of the month.

Adecco, the company that handles recruitment for Amazon's giant warehouse at Rugeley, is also taking part in the jobs fair for the first time.

There will also be a display by some of the area's smaller companies, each on the lookout for the one or two new employees to help the businesses grow.

The jobs fair, held in the WV1 Suite at Molineux Stadium from 9am to 1pm., will be open to everyone.

Last year hundreds of people flocked to Molineux to look at thousand jobs on offer at the annual event but organisers are expecting an even bigger turnout this time round.

Wolverhampton's new Impact team will also be on hand to offer advice and support to young adults aged between 16 and 29 who are classed as Not in Education, Employment or Training, NEETs. Wolverhampton council's economy chief, Councillor John Reynolds, said: "We have an ambitious long-term plan to encourage enterprise, empower people, reinvigorate our city and improve the prosperity of businesses and residents – and this event supports that.

"This is an excellent opportunity for people looking for work or a change of career.

"Over 40 local employers will be exhibiting and with a wide representation of job opportunities, both full time and part time, on offer this event is not to be missed.

"We're optimistic about the future of the city. It is a great place to live, work, visit and do business."

Wolverhampton Business Week, which offers a programme of events for businesses of all types and sizes, will take place between September 26 and September 30.

The week aims to promote investment in the city, its businesses and the workforce, acting as a platform to showcase the city's achievements and ambitions.
