Delays expected as Walsall, Wolverhampton and Dudley roads close

Drivers around the Black Country are being warned to expect delays when a series of road closures begin this week.

Overnight closures will be in force on High Street in Dudley this week.

The road will close between Stafford Street and Market Place to allow resurfacing work to be carried out.

It will be shut between 7pm and 3am on Thursday, September 1 and Friday, September 2.

The road will then be closed off during the day on Sunday, September 4, between 8am and 4pm, to allow the work to be completed.

Diversion signs will be in place.

Dudley Council's environment boss Hillary Bills asked divers to be patient while the work was ongoing.

Meanwhile Penn Road in Wolverhampton will close from tomorrow for resurfacing works.

The road will be closed on both sides between Muchall Road and Church Hill between 7pm-11pm on August 30 and September 1.

A diversion will be in place via Penn Road, Penn Road Island, Ring Road St Marks, Chapel Ash Island, Chapel Ash, Merridale Road, Bradmore Road, Trysull Road, Oxbarn Avenue, Warstones Road and vice versa

The work is being carried out by Wolverhampton council.

And Monmer Lane in Willenhall will close for 24 hours from tomorrow near to the junction of Dovedale Avenue for water main repairs. The road is expected to reopen on Thursday.
