Every Little Helps unless you want to go to Dudley Zoo, despite Tesco's new advert being filmed at the family attraction.

Supermarket giant Tesco may have recently filmed its latest national advert at the zoo's monkey enclosure.

But visitors and Tesco shoppers are not able to use their Clubcard points to enter the zoo.

Four Colombian black spider monkeys, called Valentine, Charlie, Chester and Evita, play a starring role in the new nationwide 'Monkey Business' Tesco commercial, alongside TV's Ruth Jones and Ben Miller.

The advert is one of three which showcases the different activities families can enjoy over the holidays as part of the supermarket's reward initiative.

However, visitors to the zoo are unable to use their Tesco Clubcard points to pay for entry, leaving some visitors disappointed.

Filming taking place at Dudley Zoo

Zoo manager Matt Lewis said: "We've never been involved in the Tesco Clubcard scheme, but the advert isn't specific to DZG and generally highlights the different days out you can enjoy with the loyalty card scheme.

"We were approached by a television production company who had been subcontracted by Tesco to film the advert."

A Tesco spokesman said: "Our new adverts are designed to show the type of fun days out our customers can enjoy by using their Clubcard points.

"Locations used in filming were not designed to highlight a particular attraction as being part of the scheme.

Clubcard customers in the Dudley area have a number of great options available to them for which they can use their points.

These include the nearby Black Country Living Museum or the Odeon, in West Bromwich.
