M6 delays after broken down truck blocks lane

Motorists are facing delays of up to 50 minutes on the M6 after a broken down truck forced a lane to be closed.

The truck has blocked one lane of the motorway southbound between junction seven for Great Barr and junction six for A38(M) at Spaghetti junction.

Highways England officials said they hoped the truck would be clear by around 8.15am.

But warned traffic delays could remain until 9.30am.

It has been a week of incidents sparking tailbacks on the M6.

Earlier this week a lorry fire and incident where a man was hit by a lorry caused delays for motorists.
