Pool Road in Halesowen was shut off at both ends from around 8am yesterday while officers work to resolve the incident.

Access was blocked at both Queens Way and Birmingham Street at the ends of the road which is close to Halesowen Leisure Centre.

She came down at around 1.30am today.

West Midlands Police spokesman Lee Page said the woman was detained under the Mental Health Act.

The force thanked people for their patience after some were unable to retrieve their vehicles from the car park during the incident.

Mr Page added: "Their patience allowed for this to be resolved safely and the officers at the scene are grateful for that."
