Stacey Morris died on husband Gavin Stanley's 28th birthday, and now her family is uniting to care for the couple's four sons – Olly, aged six, three-year-old Reece, Joseph, two, and 'miracle baby' Charlie who is five months.

Stacey, who was 27 and first diagnosed with cancer in November 2014, was surrounded by family at her home in Old Park Road in Wednesbury when she lost her fight with the illness at 9.15am on Thursday.

Her mother Debbie Morris said: "She was so brave, even through all of the radiotherapy, and the chemo and the mastectomy. She would tell me off if I cried. I don't know where she got her strength from."

Stacey's grandmother Hilary Morris said: "I've never known anybody with so much strength. She went though all that and still had a sense of humour."

Her father Dean Nightingale added: "She was the strongest girl I've ever known. A true fighter, all the way to the very end." The family was also touched to receive a message of condolence from Stacey's idol pop star Gareth Gates, who shehad met thanks to efforts from friends.

Stacey and Gavin married at St Bartholomew's Church in Wednesbury on June 25. She was a pupil at Hall Green Primary School and Menzies High School, before going on to study hairdressing at Sandwell College.

Charity Stacey's Journey was set up to help support the family.
