Businesses of all sizes are urged to join Sandwell Council's Sandwell Guarantee scheme that will pay up to £3,000.

The initiative aims to help young people into jobs, apprenticeships and training.

Councillor Paul Moore, Sandwell Council's cabinet member for regeneration and economic investment, said: "We have already helped 450 young people to find jobs and apprenticeships since we launched the Sandwell Guarantee.

"We're looking for more businesses to sign up and offer employment and apprenticeships to people aged 16 to 24.

"We'll help you find a suitable young person and we'll also mentor them in the workplace – as well as contributing up to half of their wages for the first year.

"So if your business could benefit from a new member of staff or an apprentice, get in touch and we'll help you to shape the workforce of the future."

To be eligible your business needs to be in Sandwell or within reasonable travelling distance, and to get the funding the young person taken on needs to live in Sandwell.
