Van flips over and ends up on car in dramatic Dudley crash

A van flipped onto its side and ended up on top of a car parked on a driveway after a dramatic smash in Dudley.

The orange van hit a BMW at the junction of Church Road and Marriott Road, Netherton, before rolling over and coming to rest on the bonnet of the car.

The driver of the Mercedes van was taken to Dudley's Russells Hall Hospital but was not believed to be seriously hurt.

The crash happened just before 1pm today.

Police, paramedics and fire crews were all called to the scene.

The car was left with major damage to its front end, while a trail of damage and debris was left behind as the van crushed a street sign before landing on the parked car.

West Midlands Fire Service spokesman Neil Spencer said: "We were called to an RTC between a car and a van, with the van on its side.

"One man was receiving treatment from paramedics and was taken to Russells Hall Hospital. We sent five firefighters and a fire engine from Haden Cross."
