PICTURES and VIDEO: Birmingham's Bullring and Mailbox flood as torrential rain hit West Midlands

The Bullring and Mailbox in Birmingham were forced to close following torrential downpours in the West Midlands today.

The city centre was battered by a deluge of water with problems on the public transport and for shoppers.

Parts of the Bullring were shut down as rain could be seen pouring through the roof.

The Birmingham indoor market and the Mailbox was also closed because of the rain.

Fire crews were also called to a large amount of flooding at Heartlands Hospital to help protect the patients.
