Man left with shocking injuries trying to stop thieves stealing his car in Walsall

A man was injured as he tried to stop thieves stealing his car in Walsall.

The callous car theft took place around 10.45am in St Pauls Crescent in Pelsall on Friday.

A black Ford Focus was stolen and later found burnt out in Bloxwich.

A post on Facebook, which shows the victims shocking facial injuries, has been shared more than 2,000 times.

Sarah Rounds, who uploaded the photo of who she says is her father, states alongside it: "My dad had his car stolen – black Ford Focus estate – and they left him like this, the car was found burnt out on Fishley Lane in Bloxwich not long after.

"If anybody knows anything or saw anything please inform the police. Let's catch the horrible people so they can't do anything like this again."

West Midlands Police spokesperson Deb Edwards said: "Police were called to St Pauls Crescent just after 10.30am on Friday 20 May after a black Ford Focus was stolen.

"The owner of the vehicle was injured as he tried to stop two men making off in the vehicle.

"The car was later recovered burnt out in Fishley Lane. Inquiries are ongoing."
