Fire crews tackle blaze near derelict building in Wednesbury

Fire crews were today tackling a blaze to tyres and rubbish near a derelict building in Wednesbury.

The fire on Darlaston Road was described as large by the West Midlands Fire Service.

A West Midlands Fire Service spokesman said: "The fire involves vehicle tyres and general rubbish which were on fire in a yard.

"They were also adjacent to a large quantity of steel drums.

"We received a call just after 3pm today and sent four engines from Bilston, Wednesbury, Willenhall and West Bromwich.

"Only two crews are now as it is being reduced down."
