Neil Elsam, 50, was thought to have been dead in his home in Springhill, near Brownhills, for a few days when he was discovered on February 14.

An inquest into his death at Cannock Coroner's Court heard he had been suffering from hypothermia.

Police were called to the house at Springhill Farm, Walsall Road, after neighbours were unable to get in.

South Staffordshire Coroner Andrew Haigh said he could not rule the death to be as a result of natural causes as Mr Elsam had been suffering hypothermia. He recorded a verdict of accidental death.
