The accident happened around 8.10am morning in Warstone Meadows, Bewdley.

Fire crews, ambulance and police were at the scene with no reported injuries, but the driver of the bin lorry was said to have been in 'shock'.

Bricks above the garage door have been pushed in and homeowner Jayne Hall has been advised by the fire service not to stay upstairs until the house is fully secured.

The front of this car was badly damaged in the accident

She said: "I was on the phone to my husband when I heard a loud bang come from the front of the house.

"I walked out to find a bin lorry had smashed into my car and garage. At first I was upset and in shock, as nothing like this as ever happened around here before.

"Luckily nobody was hurt or injured and it's actually fortunate the car was there, as it stopped the lorry from smashing into the front pillar which could have brought half the house down."
