A petition urging Wolves to reconsider their shirt sponsorship deal with The Money Shop has shot past 10,000 signatures.

Football fans have reacted furiously to the club's partnership with the pay-day lenders, and have already forced Wolves into providing an option to buy a children's shirt without the sponsor's logo on.

Two city MPs and a host of councillors have joined the protest and now thousands of supporters have signed a petition to be handed to Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey that states: "We strongly feel that that the Money Shop's business practices, whilst legal, do not fit with the ethics of the football club."

The club announced a range of charitable initiatives in response to the initial critical feedback over the deal, including a new project delivered by the Wolves Community Trust to teach financial education to youngsters.

But those new measures do not appear to have placated all fans as the online petition continues to swell in number.
