Closures planned for M54 and M6

Motorists are warned of a series of night closures affecting the M54 and M6 starting next month.

The work on drainage resurfacing, road marking and general maintenance will be carried out in two phases.

From April 11 for four nights, the closures will affect eastbound traffic on the M54 from Junction 1 to the point where it meets the M6 at Junction 10a, and the westbound carriageway from 10a to Junction 2 of the M54.

The closures, which will include the slip roads, will take place between 8pm and 6pm.

The second phase of the work will be carried out the following month, starting on May 24 for seven nights. Diversion routes via the A460, A5 and A449 will be signposted.

Notice has also been given of the closure of the both slip roads at Junction 7 of the M6 later this month. The exits will be cordoned off between March 28 - April 1, from 10pm to 6am, to allow litter-picking works to be carried out.
