Fire crews were called to assist the female horse at 11.15am this morning after the owner became concerned.

Both front legs of the animal were trapped by the metal over-bar of the trailer, preventing it from moving or getting itself out.

Fire fighters and the animal rescue team from Kidderminster fire and rescue service were dispatched to attend the scene, however only the fire crew could make it in time.

The horse was reported to be very calm when crews arrived, and remained so throughout the operation to extract her legs from the trailer.

Crews successfully freed the horse's legs from the over-bar, and left the scene at 11.44am.
