Jason Ronald Douglas, now aged 36, is Australian of aboriginal descent and thought to have been living homeless in the town for more than a decade.

His family have since launched a campaign which raised over $2,000 to fund the costs to bring him back to Australia.

Previously, Mr Douglas had been living in the UK with his uncle, Timothy Elwin Andrews, while his family remained in Australia.

But Mr Andrews died of a heart attack during a football game in 1999.

The last time Mr Douglas' relatives saw him face to face the same year at his uncle's funeral.

His sister, Sally Douglas, believes it took so long to find him because he was drifting from one part of the country to another. It also emerged that Mr Douglas believed his family had given up looking for him.
