Forty jobs on the way at new £1m Smethwick gym

A £1 million gym creating 40 jobs in Smethwick will open in April.

Xercise4less is opening a new branch in a former office block in Crystal Drive.

The building was previously home to Sandwell Integrated Support Service and Black Country Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

The gym will open on April 22 and feature cardio machines, free weights, combat sessions and a ladies only area.

Chief executive, Jon Wright, said: "We are very excited to be able to open a brand new fitness facility for the people of Smethwick and continue our expansion across the West Midlands.

"This is will be our third opening in the region in just five months and will enable us to offer an even greater number of people the opportunity to partake in affordable fitness. With many new gym openings in the pipeline, we are looking forward to a prosperous future."
