Supermarket giant Aldi has announced plans to build a new store in Great Barr.

The German supermarket already has a site on the Birmingham Road but now proposes a store directly next to Asda Queslett.

Residents will get the chance to have their say at a public exhibition that Aldi are holding this Thursday.

It will take place at Pheasey Park Farm Community Centre, in Hillingford Avenue, Great Barr.

Residents can visit anytime between 3pm and 7pm.

Councillor Adrian Andrew, who represents the Pheasey Park Farm ward, said: "Residents must have their views heard and essential that Birmingham Planning Department take on our views as immediate neighbours."

A statement on Aldi's consultation website states: "We welcome your feedback on the proposal and if you have any questions please contact us."

In November Aldi opened a new store in Oldbury opposite the Wolverhampton Road Asda.

Hundreds of eager shoppers headed to its opening – with the influx of visitors causing chaos on the roads.
